We are talking about a phenomenon where the average temperature of the coldest of the year will exceed the average temperature of the hottest of the year for the 145-year period - from 1860 to 2005. This is the conclusion drawn by researchers of the University of Hawaii at Manoa. The results of their study were published recently in the prestigious scientific journal Nature.
While on a global scale of climate change, scientists predict will become irreversible after 34 years for some regions, this date may come much sooner, to others - later, says the magazine Expert. So, for example, the point of no return is waiting for the residents of the Mexican capital Mexico City, presumably in 2031. Before any irreversible climate change will be felt residents Indonesian city of Manokwari - they only have to wait seven years, experts say.
In Moscow, this point of no return, according to scientists, will come in 2063. In a year, according to forecasts, this phenomenon will face the residents of St. Petersburg.
In general, according to the published study, residents will experience a tropical climate change ahead of the inhabitants of the northern latitudes.
