EARTH TO REACH "POINT OF NO RETURN" CLIMATE IN 2047

Earth reaches the climate in 2047

EARTH TO REACH POINT OF NO RETURN CLIMATE IN 2047Earth will reach the point of no return climate in 2047. We are talking about a phenomenon where the average temperature of the coldest of the year will exceed the average temperature of the hottest of the year for the 145-year period - from 1860 to 2005. This is the conclusion drawn by researchers of the University of Hawaii at Manoa. The results of their study were published recently in the prestigious scientific journal Nature.

While on a global scale of climate change, scientists predict will become irreversible after 34 years for some regions, this date may come much sooner, to others - later, says the magazine Expert. So, for example, the point of no return is waiting for the residents of the Mexican capital Mexico City, presumably in 2031. Before any irreversible climate change will be felt residents Indonesian city of Manokwari - they only have to wait seven years, experts say.

In Moscow, this point of no return, according to scientists, will come in 2063. In a year, according to forecasts, this phenomenon will face the residents of St. Petersburg.

In general, according to the published study, residents will experience a tropical climate change ahead of the inhabitants of the northern latitudes. Natural processes are the hardest hit in the tropics, as in this region rich in flora and fauna, and even minor climate changes will lead to a serious restructuring of the ecosystem.

As the climate is the main factor determining the biological processes taking place in individuals and in the ecosystems it affects several aspects of human life, according to an article in Nature. Global changes can have serious consequences, jeopardizing the existence of different species of animals and leading to an imbalance in the ecosystem.

Changes in climate result in a deterioration of the human condition due to problems with the water. The impact of these phenomena on human health - because of the wider spread of infectious diseases, heat stress and related problems that may occur with the psyche. As a result of migration heightened competition for natural resources, there will be conflicts that will lead to geopolitical instability, researchers predict.

While the occurrence of a point of no return is inevitable, it can delay the reduction of emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, the researchers note. Even in the ideal case, this process is only shifted to about 2069.
