General Motors Co announced a recall of 426,240 cars Chevrolet, Pontiac and Saturn in the United States to correct a defect transmission, according to Reuters.
The largest U.S. automaker said the recall affects model Chevy Malibu, Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura, produced in 2007-2010, and equipped with four-speed automatic transmission.
In certain circumstances the apparent position of gear shift could be different from the true condition of its work.
In GM dealerships will be free to fix the problem.
GM knows of four accidents involving malfunction, however, the companies are not known cases where such incidents have resulted in the injury.
Recall, sales of new cars in the U.S. in August 2012 showed the largest growth rate from the pre-crisis times, due to the improvement in consumer sentiment and reduced the cost of car loans.
