The Volkswagen Group in the period from 2013 to 2015 to invest in their automotive department 50.2 billion euros. According to the chairman of the German producer Martin Winterkorn, this is a record amount for the brand, and the first time it includes investments in brands MAN and Porsche.
On the new property, plant and equipment concern spend 39.2 billion euros, of which about 60% will be allocated to the assets in Germany. Volkswagen will focus on the modernization of existing and development of new models, which will be built on a modular platform. Also company intends to focus on creating the next generation of engines with improved fuel economy and reduced emissions of harmful substances. In addition, work will continue on the development of hybrid and electric propulsion systems.
The program includes the development of VW to increase production of automatic transmissions, the expansion of the Porsche factory in Leipzig, where he soon will start to collect new crossover Macan, construction of the new Audi plant in Mexico and an investment of 9.8 billion euros in the venture in China, which will be built in collaboration with local partners.
