Recently, astrophysicists from Sweden and Finland found that the planet does not necessarily tramps were once members of the planetary systems. Some of them could have formed in the open space, away from any star. Supporting this theory is interesting, called Rosette Nebula - now there is an active form of these strollers.
Traditionally, it is believed that all the so-called world-tramp, that is, planets that do not rotate on the established orbit around its star, and the free space on the fly, once had his home. That is, they are formed from a protoplanetary clouds near the star. Well, after a result of the passage next to their own system of a giant light or other celestial body (whose size is equal to or greater than that of Jupiter), the gravitational force of the intruder, these planets were thrown out of the unstable orbit.
Further, such a planet, losing contact with their mother star, at one point coming off of him and began its journey through boundless space (just like the Voyager probe of natural origin). Some of these wanderers luck - after a while they were captured by the gravitational force and gained another star, so a new home. Others have remained eternal wanderers - and, according to the latest data, these planets are sometimes even able to travel to another galaxy! Well, the most unlucky in the end, turned out to be in the vicinity of the black hole, and some ... well, all of them understandable.
However, despite the various options for end of travel of such vagrants, the beginning of something we all have one thing - they were born in the vicinity of a star, and nothing else. Such an idea for a long time, it seemed quite obvious - and astronomers could not imagine what planet stroller could be born in some other way. However, a recent study of a group of astronomers from Sweden and Finland to the nines broke but that it is - it turned out that the wandering planets can occur far away from the stars.
Astronomers have come to this conclusion after a study using several telescopes and ground-based infrared telescope one giant emission nebula outlet that is from us at a distance of 4600 light years. Scientists have found that it is filled with more than a hundred tiny clouds with a diameter equal to about 50 times the distance between the Sun and Neptune (about 1500 a. F.). Moreover, it was found that all these strange clouds are very dense objects - they have 50 to 500 times that of Jupiter, and their centers even smaller periphery.
Previously, we estimated the majority of them as having a planetary mass of about 13 Jupiter. We now have a much more reliable estimates of the mass and density for a large number of similar objects, and we were able to measure the rate of movement of these small clouds of the nebula relative to said lead author of the Gesta Gum from the University of Stockholm (Sweden). She also adds that there is no doubt that such things - neither more nor less than the future of the planet, vagrants, which are formed outside of any planetary systems. That is, they are homeless since the very first days of its existence.
However, it is possible that not all the clouds in the future it will become in the world - some of them may neyarkimi destined to become the stars of the class of brown dwarfs. Study of the density of these objects has shown that many of them in the future collapse under its own weight and form a free-floating planets. But perhaps the most massive clouds form the so-called brown dwarfs - suggests Carina Persson of Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden).
But where did these mysterious protoplanet in the Rosette Nebula - in fact any emerging planetary systems around and there was not? According to the authors, they studied small rounded clouds could be formed when a column of gas to isolate from the nebula under the influence of radiation from young stars, lost elements of their tails. After separation from the gas cloud formations larger sizes dispersed light pressure at the center of the nebula of young blue giants, but because of their speed today is such that they can not even leave the outlet. According to the calculations of astronomers, these clouds rush through the nebula at 22 km / s, which is sufficient to ensure that in the near future to get a free flight. By the way.
Scientists believe that this outlet is not alone in the universe - and it is possible that in the past, nebulae, which produced the world-tramp, was much more. The fact that, according to well-established theories of star formation, the formation of stars had to go first to the very rich hydrogen nebulae, which is the outlet. Well, as the stars in the sky are not just a lot, but there are infinitely many, it is logical to assume that once existed countless millions of these outlets, which in addition to the stars, and even spawned protoplanetary cloud. Of them, then turned to the future of the planet-tramp (at least some of these objects).
It is possible that these nebulae, and now it is enough. And, without any doubt, that they should be one of the most significant sources of free-floating planets found in recent years, - said Dr. Gösta Gum. Although he did not rule out that some vagrants were formed quite a traditional way - that is, they were taken out large celestial body from his native planet system ...
