MERCEDES HAS LOST THE BATTLE OF SALES AND AUDI BMWDespite plans to occupy the first place among luxury car in 2020, Mercedes-Benz has gone down to third place, behind its rivals BMW and Audi.


Mercedes has sold 964,900 vehicles in the first nine months of 2012, lagging behind at 132.600 units of Audi and BMW to 145,000. Over the past seven years selling Mercedes climbed by 19%, while BMW - at 31% and 70% of Audi.


To try to deal with the downward trend of Mercedes is planning to market in the near future new flagship S-Class, as well as preparing the introduction of new low-cost compact models, including the CLA and the new A-Class.


In the Chinese market, Mercedes is also lagging as of Audi, and from BMW, both of which have achieved sales growth of more than 30% this year, compared with 6,5% Mercedes.


According to the reconstruction of the A-Class and the output S-Class models should have a positive effect on sales of the brand.
