EUROPEAN COMMISSION FOR SAMSUNG FINED JUDICIAL ACTIVITY AGAINST APPLE

The European Commission fined Samsung for judicial activity against Apple

When HTC withdrew its claims against Apple, no one was surprised, because before it became known that the company went to the world. Question - why Samsung to do that in Europe? Has played a role only intention to protect the interests of consumers, or there has been a fear of a collision foreheads with a powerful structure? Probably the second.

The assets of the Koreans, among other things, including the five lawsuits filed in the courts of five European countries to ban sales of a number of devices Apple. And, as you know, these claims were recently recalled. Two days passed, and then floated out the reason.

It turns out that the European Commission (as the supreme organ of the executive authorities of the EU) Samsung intends to present a fine for breach of competition rules! And, yes, it violated the law in filing lawsuits - or rather, a restriction of access to certain technologies competitors.

The fact that Samsung has receded, cajoles European Commission - but does not serve as a reason for the lifting of sanctions.

We are very pleased that the requests were withdrawn, and yet we continue to investigate for possible abuse ... in the past.

- European Commissioner for Competition Joaquin Almunia
