SCIENTISTS HAVE INVENTED HOW TO CHARGE SMARTPHONE URINE

Scientists have figured out how to charge the smartphone urine

SCIENTISTS HAVE INVENTED HOW TO CHARGE SMARTPHONE URINEAt Bristol University have found a way to get energy from the urine due to a special fuel cell in which the organic matter is broken down by micro-organisms, and the output is electricity.

Thus, the problems with charging the smartphone will be, perhaps, in the desert. However, the first technology to be fundamentally improved.

The system operates as follows: the urine passes through a plurality of fuel elements containing microorganisms. Bacteria feed kept in an unusual fuel organic matter, and their metabolic products to help generate a small current. Charge, resulting in the splitting of the elements stored in the capacitor.

According Yeropulosa Ioannis (Ioannis Ieropoulos) from the University of the West of England, now only has enough energy for short walks on the internet, send SMS or short call. Besides, the fuel cell size is more like a car battery than a pocket gadget.

Despite the low amount of energy produced, the project has potential. One possible application would be to put special items in the public toilets where the energy will come to light, chargers, etc.

At the moment we are talking about the development of such toilets with partners in the United States and South Africa, so stay tuned, - says Yeropulos.
